Weekly Topic: Philosophy of Worship
Over at the 5pt forum, I’ve been posting weekly topics in order to pump up community discussion. If you haven’t done so, you should check it out. This week’s topic is on the Philosophy of Worship.
“One thing I regret in college was not being more vocal in my church music classes. But I wasn’t due to the fact that I did not have a biblical understanding of worship, and I was trying to understand worship. It wasn’t until after graduating from college and having the attitude that I wanted nothing more to do with music that I began to want to understand worship (and I don’t mean worship styles).
My question to you is, what is your understanding/philosophy of worship? Do you think that we should follow a regulative principle or do you think the Scriptures allow more freedom? Why or why not? Or do you think worship should be more covenantal? If so, what does covenantal worship look like?”
