Paedobaptism: Preamble

I mentioned in a blog post about two years ago in regards to writing a blog series on Paedobaptism. If you haven’t noticed from reading my blog, covenant theology is a passionate topic of mine and within that, I am a staunch believer in and upholder of infant baptism (Paedobaptism). To preface, I am not dedicating energy to this series in order to cause a heated debate among my brethren but instead look at the subject more closely. Yes, there are a plethora of blog posts out there about it and plenty of books and booklets that deal with the subject as well. However, some of them have differing perspectives on which I don’t agree or they may be lacking. So then, this is my attempt to bring it more in line with what the majority of us baby baptizers hold to.

Even though I will be looking at the more mainstream belief and thought in Paedobaptism, I may take a minor shift in a different direction. If I do so, I Will note what is the mainstream thought and then give my alternate view and why I have an alternate view

“How will this series be organized,” you ask? Every Wednesday (with the exception of this Wednesday) for the next seven weeks, I will be publishing a new article in the series. I will begin the series with looking at God working through families or households and then move on to circumcision, baptism, covenant community, and ending with answering objections that may have sprung up along the way. Hopefully by the end, my readers will have a better understanding of why I hold to this position, and why I am filled with joy every time I witness the baptism of an infant.

Below is an outline for the series. Once an article in the series is published, the links below will become hyperlinked.

  1. Paedobaptism: Preamble
  2. Paedobaptism: Families & Households
